Ok, when are those dems in Congress gonna fix this problem? Gas prices are about to top $3 again, but not much noise from the politicians yet. Guess it will have to go over $3 before the noise starts. I guess will have hearings soon. Oddly, gas prices aren't spiking as a result of the price of oil. Oil is $13-15 cheaper than last year when gas prices topped $3. View attachment 8791
Every year, as the summer driving season approaches, gasoline prices go up. Imagine that. And every year Big Oil says something like, it was a shortage because of winter fuel oil, or it was because of special formulations required in California, or some such excuse. Every year. Better planning never seems to be achieved and there is always a summer shortage and higher prices . . . while the oil companies make record profits. Big Oil owns congress, who will do nothing. They own the oil state legislatures too. And of course they own the oil man who is now President.
Slide your credit cards, press "No" when it asks it you want a receipt, don't look at the pump, fill upthe gas guzzling SOB.....I mean SUV up, hang the nozzle up and drive off. :hihi: ESPECIALLY if you drink bottled water........ever figure out what that chit costs per gallon?? And there're faucets all over the freakin place.
That is absolutely ridiculous. Most of the petroleum goes into oil by-products such as plastics. The automobile industry is working very hard to develop a hydrogen car, but the technology still needs tweeking. All of your auto manufacurers know their future lies in hydrogen cars. The big problem is cost. It is generally felt that hydrogen cars will start hitting the market in 15 to 20 years. Once that happens the oil companies will do quite well using its petroleum in other areas. You statement just cannot be backed up by facts.
We built a spacecraft to fly to the moon in a few short years. Yet we can't develop an energy efficient car in 30 years? We've been "working" on it since the 70s. Automakers build vehicles we want. We don't want small, energy efficient vehicles. We'll take an energy efficient vehicle if it comes in the form of a SUV (or some other big car) at an affordable price. The problem is not oil companies, government, automakers, etc ... the problem is the person staring back at us in the mirror. Of course, it's more fun to blame everyone else.
we all hate corporate greed unless it is our corporation. maybe the stockholders are appreciative, i dunno (ode to martin)
I don't get all the hate towards rich companies like Wal-Mart, Microsoft, oil companies, etc. I love corporate greed as long as they aren't breaking any rules while making all that money. They employ tons of people and pay millions in taxes. They are good for the economy, even with high energy prices. Show me some evidence of wrongdoing (like Enron) and I'll be right there with you complaining. Otherwise, I'll just have to tolerate high prices and invest in those rich companies.
