I don't follow you. It's not the 18th century anymore. We have mass communication, good roads, and rural areas are not isolated anymore. They all get to vote. But is its just wrong for a state to have a popular vote of 40% RED, 45% BLUE, and 15% GREEN and have 100% of its electoral votes go to BLUE. Over half the population disagrees with the vote and the small parties can never even get a foothold.
Here is a really great article on pros and cons for the Electoral College. I kinda like this guys idea also of how to fix it by separating the votes by district. Electoral College Pros and Cons
Here is another article on gas prices, I find the last 2 sentences interesting. HowStuffWorks "Why did U.S. gas prices drop in the fall of 2006?"
There are always factors that drive oil prices. These factors are fluid and prices change frequently. Speculation is one of the biggest problems right now and it is creating yet another oil price bubble that will not last. Oil purchasers fear that war in the middle east will cut supplies and they are betting on it. The high price right now is not justified by supply and demand, which are well-balanced right now. We have seen this cycle before, within a year oil prices will start dropping when supplies start straining the capacity to store oil and oil producers must start slowing production.
no it isnt. why is that a problem? why is everything a problem in your eyes? youa re like the hammer that sees everything as a nail. why is price variability something that needs to be fixed or managed at all? and, you as a global warming alarmist, shouldnt you hope for high oil prices, which literally would be the best way to save the world? what do you do when your fake problems conflict with each other?
The federal reserve act says they must look at Price Stability. 4:30 : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGlmidTTIKg]Ron Paul: Bernanke Deliberately Destroying Dollar - YouTube[/ame] And oh that's right. Because we know how much they print. WAIT they don't report m3 anymore. I wonder why? Oh let us not forget the 14T the Fed created and lent out. Also the setting of interest rates directly manipulate the dollar.
