Instead of emailing him, let's email the article to Chad Lavalais, Marquisse Hill, Marcus Spears, etc... Although they don't need an article to get fired up. The mere fact that this clown has to beg Ole Miss fans to get up for this game is the funniest part. All the things he pleads for them to do is what is second nature to us LMFAO!!
My response sent to all 3 inboxes... Mr. Godfrey, Hello, and good morning. My name is Gary, & I frequent a website known as www.tigerforums.com. I was perusing the site today when I came across a linked version of your article. I must say that it moved me to bang out a response. First and foremost, I'd like to point out some of the interesting points I took from the article... A quote of yours... "If you're annoyed by these slope-headed goobers in purple and gold, do not raise a hand in anger." Thank you so much for the public service announcement to refrain from violence. I find it interesting to hear such derision for our indigenous culture, and such demeaning and offensive verbiage, yet on the next hand, you warn your fellow "Mississippians" not to take violent means to deal with us. If your own fellow in-state brethren must result to violence, then it looks like you're not saying as much about Louisianians as much as you are saying something about the emotional (and dare I say intellectual?) stability levels? On another note in regards to the "slope-headed goobers"...I'm sure that Louisiana natives Eli Manning and Robert Lane (Who originally committed with LSU, but was too scared of competition with Alabama native JaMarcus Russell at QB to sign with us on National Signing Day) are very proud and eager to read about what you have to say about their relatives, families, and friends. Another quote... "Remember to be sympathetic, because if a Cajun is insulting Ole Miss, he or she is probably having to do it by reading off a cue card written in phonetics while suffering through a bout of syphilis." I'm guessing that this article-especially this passage-won't exactly be the first piece of your writing that appears in your folio that you present to prospective employers. You are writing for a student newspaper, from what I understand, and while I can easily justify the low literary standards and low intellectual level displayed with this article based on the level of talent the school has available, I hope that this article-as well as your mentality-is not indicative of the staff writers, nor the student body at large, nor the Ole Miss fanbase at large. One last bit of irony via one of your quotes... "Seriously though, exercise a reasonable amount of safety, act like an adult..." Mr. Godfrey, I would advise you to enjoy the ability to display a total lack of sensibility, as well as the power to spew forth upon your audience a total lack of class, intelligence, and professionalism for as long as you possibly can. The abiilty to make yourself look like a total jackass, while at the same time appealing to your audience to act like an adult, is the definition of irony. Perhaps you should exercise some more diligence in proofreading, or perhaps you should have a conversation about coherence with your editor, if in fact you have one. I am guessing your paid a small stipend by the University of Mississippi in exchange for your "alleged writing talents". Being a school that's subsidized by state tax dollars, you are for all intents and purposes, a state employee. All I can say is that with your talents, your lack of coherence, and your pithy inferiority complex you so willingly and inexplicably don't mind putting on display, you fit right in with the rest of your fellow Mississippians who can't cut in the private sector. Good luck on Saturday, and may the best team win. Remember to look around the pressbox you find yourself in. Those around you-for the most part-are considered professionals. Professionalism is something you should avail yourself of finding more of. Gary, aka - TigerEducated
By the way, I just called my lawyer and will talk to him at 2. I am wondering if there's a case of defamation of character here? I've taken the entry level Journ classes at one time in my life (when I thought being a writer would be "cool" at the age of 18), and one thing you learn, is never, ever, ever, ever, slam a culture or race on print. Are there any people out there that know the law on this? Wouldn't this be a clearcut case of defamation of character?
TE, I have written on some pretty serious debate topics in my life and have had numerous comments on how well written they are and such......dude, that letter completely dominates anything I have ever done.......I am totally impressed....
Something Biblical in the form of a reply is in order. Shall we reference "Farchie" and his "Spawn ELI", the Rebels, their worthless town Oxford, the Grove, Vaught Hemingway Stadium and their hearts and souls. Hmmmmm! Let's rock! Deuteronomy 2:33 And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. LSU 61, Sodom & Gomorrah, Mississippi 17 Deuteronomy 2:34 And we took all his cities at that time (Oxford, The Grove & the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium), and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain. Self Explanatory Matthew 10:28: "And fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Implies that the Rebels would not spend eternity in Hell, but would be annihilated after residing there for a while. Hehehe! Matthew 13:40-42: "As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this season. The Son of Saban shall send forth his Tigers, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all Rebel things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." This passage can only be interpreted as sudden annihilation or as eternal punishment. Again LSU 61, Mississippi 17
Well you guys just goes to show you how immature Ole Miss is. I can't wait to read his next article after our TIGERS whip Ole Miss!! GO TIGERS!!!
I will let the LSU Tiger football team do the talking for me. The guy did get one thing right. They should be prepared for the wake on Saturday night.
Boy. I shouldn't be surprised. Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana all have the same opinion of one another: Rednecks, inbreds, yadda yadda yadda. Come up with something new buddy.
