Randall did not cost you guys the AU or UA game. He wasn't spectacular but no one player, most of the time, cost a team a game. In other words, the score would've been different but Mauck would've lost those games too at the helm.

BamaBengal, we had a soon-to-be NFL rookie of the year in our backfield and the same explosive reveier corps out there. When Mauck got hurt, we had just finished destroying Florida in all phases of the game. The same Gators went on to beat Auburn and UGA. You have no idea what having Mauck out there would have meant to the offense. The Tigers were as loaded on O as they are this year, but Randall could not get the job done. Period. Thus, with Mauck at the helm, they could have beaten anyone they played last year, too.

Randall may not have lost the Bama game for us, but he sure as hell lost the AU game for us. How can any one disagree with 4 INT's before half time. The bottom line here is were a winning team when Mauck is in the game, 13-2 as a starter is hard to dispute.

The Cocks are so glad to have a "Big Name" coach, they will accept anything from LOU. The gamecock fans think Lou just needs 2 more years to get the program where it belongs. The only place in the SEC that would give a coach 8 years, and love it because he makes them believe they can "win any game with Lou on the field". The only place you can lose 28-6 and the fans say "Lou you the man". Total loser U.

Re: The Hogs are making it look easy.

We will be ready. The Tigers will be taking the Hogs to the wood shed, uh not they will be taking them to the smoke house. :geaux:

Not trying to be a smartass, but Randall was personally responsible for Texas putting 7 on the board.

I think Randall can succeed in the SEC with good skill players around him (like we have) but hopefully he won't get the chance. We want Mauck to come back and stay healthy and Russell or Flynn to show us if their hype is accurate. I think Randall cost us the Auburn game but that's the only one and it was a tough spot to put him in. If you watch the Ole Miss, Arkansas, and 1st half of the Cotton Bowl (before his leg injury), you cannot tell me that Randall "sucks" or has no business being on the field. He improved immensely and represented LSU well. Unfortunately, for him, we have better options now but I'm glad Claussen didn't have to play more last year. We would've never been in the Cotton Bowl.

    TE vs TA

TE why don't you compile a list of your posts over the years and attach it to your resume then forward all to ESPN. You and Trev Albert would make a dynamic duo discussing NCAA sports. :))

I was a Marcus Randall supporter last year, but I was disappointed many times because of what I perceived to be his lack of experience. Plus, I firmly believed he was the best option we had for QB (especially after seeing Clausen, who was hideous), and he was very athletic

Still, this year, when he's come into games (when we've had huge leads), he's still been tentative and easily shaken. And we don't score when he's in the game.

roygu was right. Randall looked like a Heisman candidate in the second half against SC last year. Then, the rest of our season was a nightmare. We barely beat Ole Miss and Kentucky and lost the rest. Randall wasn't able to lead us to victory.

None of this is intended to sleight Randall. I still think he's a great athlete--perhaps he could be a DB or WR. But he's not our QB. He doesn't lead the team the way Matt Mauck does or Rohan Davey or Herb Tyler did. I don't think, either, that he's an SEC-caliber QB.

Slam me, Tiger Educated, if you wish, but this is a Tiger board for Tiger opinions.
