Tough choice on offense and defense this week but: Offense: Picking Darius Guice would be the easy way out. He deserves a game ball every week but for the opener I'm giving the game ball to Danny Etling. He showed very significant improvement over last season and played his best game yet as a Tiger. Better arm strength with more zip on the ball and I didn't see even one inactive throw. His consistency as a game manager will be a huge factor in determining how far the Tigers go this year. Defense - It's hard to single out any one player. They all played well. I'm tempted to give the game ball to Greedy Williams not only because I like his name but for the way he stepped up for the suspended Tolliver in his first ever opportunity. Could Tolliver have been Wally Pipped? Instead though I'm giving the game ball this week to the entire group of true and redshirt freshmen on defense. This bodes very well for the future. Special Teams - A huge disappointment all around. Still better than last year but they have a long way to go. All this was covered in the good, bad & ugly thread so I'm not going to repeat it but, NO SPECIAL TEAM GAME BALL this week.
Ah, noted. I'll get tech support on this. Any idea company policy in here on 'nip slips'? 'Accidental' of course.
All these threads about football, this place is starting to look like a dam football forum. I think VHsTiger will approve.
