I will believe you are a "moderate" before that happens slim. But I sure would love to twist the top off a few cold ones along side ya.

It's only 80 billion. They've been running trillion dollar deficits for 6 years so I don't think 80 billion is shit. They could "borrow" the money from the govt pension funds.

They (all left and right) tend to provide worse case scenarios for the effect on their cherished program. They will also do all they can to make sure those hit hardest are the ones who can least afford it and have the least political influence.
If they can't show enough balls and brains to solve this problem then Jefferson was right when he said "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Again the whole mess of them in DC are part of this. It isn't just the Rs or just BHO & the Ds. A pox on both their houses.

Congress and the Senate should be furloughed. And their benefits should be suspended.

I didn't realize their were going to be furloughs that came with the sequester when you started this thread.

When we had to take a week of furlough a few years ago, it was unpaid leave. Else, the state felt like they would get sued down the road for compensation plus interest.
