And there you have the Liberal Democrat philosophy in a nutshell. Go ahead. Have a talk with the snake. Let's see how far you get.
red, all that is nice, but i still want the quotes from bush where he said saddam had something to do with 9/11. well somebody is saying it, so i guess it is true. why cant i just see the actual letter from bush, rather than paraphrasing and reports of what it says? people are trying desperately hard to make bush say something so they can call bush a liar. again, specifically i would like to see where bush said saddam was involved with 9/11. if he didnt say that, why are we even discussing it? this gets us nowhere, telling each other what might have been said or what some dumb people thought or what you thought might have been potrayed.
See, you're phrasing it to sound like we're defensless to 'snakes', when in reality we're infinitely superior and more powerful than them. Oh, and you might consider your revising your description of that philosophy.
hey im a libertarian! woo hoo! well, a hybrid of one anyways... I will probably vote for that guy, or someone like him in 2008.
Here we go.... That's right, let's take as long a time as possible to figure out where these individuals are hiding and find them and bring them to justice, rather than taking down the government that supported and funded them. That way, they'll have more time to stage another attack and kill more Americans. Super! They brought the fight to us, we responded in kind. The Taliban is gone and Osama is on the run. Ok, so on December 8, 1941, a Libertarian president would not have declared war on Japan for attacking Pearl Harbor? Great! Let's try to do this diplomatically...oh wait, we had exhausted those efforts already. I'm sorry, but if some a-holes attack us on our home soil, it's on. All this let's be friends and talk this out so it won't happen again crap makes me sick. We had every right to react to 9/11 and a President who wouldn't send the military to respond has no balls. Frankly, that's not the kind of man I want leading the free world. Not when you have a horrendous dictator who rules his country with an iron fist and will kill any man who seeks to disagree with him on sight. Oh yeah, he'll kill his family first, rape his daughters in front of him, torture him, and then kill him. But hey, if they can't rise up against that, I guess they don't deserve freedom and democracy. Tell that to the six million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust - "I'm sorry, you can't fight for yourselves because you are up against a superior force, so we're just going to let you be helpless and die." That's great leadership right there. I find it interesting how all the talk about the draft always comes from the left. They're all worried about the draft coming back when those in charge are steadfast in saying they have no intention of bringing back the draft. Heaven forbid one stand up and fight for and preserve their right to freedom. I thought Bednarik said earlier that "Freedom and democracy are blessings any people must establish for themselves." Oops, looks like he made a hypocrit of himself. Thomas Paine said, "Those who expect to reap the blessings of liberty must undergo the fatigues of supporting it." Seems pretty cut and dry to me. I'll round out my rant with this: Great, lets just drop everything we're doing over there and forget about the Iraqi people, thereby leaving Iraq completely torn apart and allowing it to turn into a safe haven for Al-Qaeda and prime real estate for the largest terrorist camp ever built. That way, they can regroup, build their forces, and launch yet another attack on America (and other countries around the world where freedom exists) - all on a Libertarian's watch. Then, after that, instead of sending a military to respond, we'll sit around a fire, sing kumbaya and try and talk this out with them. But they'll probably just try to throw us into the fire. I'm glad this assclown has no shot at being my Commander-in-Chief. I'd probably be out of a job.
alll the libertariansim is nice, and would have been great if we started it 40 years ago. its too late, now we are involved. we cannot drop out now. you never leave a fight half fought.
I think that post is called "the spin"... I don't think I should discuss beliefs of mine, because a lot of them, are very opposed to certain things that are programmed into us (military). :::sigh::: Its really no use bothering discussing this.
I agree... our country has made its bed, and now we have to sleep in it... but its almost like... when does it all stop? when do we stop policing the world? ok jeez, I really AM done with this topic now and I shall not respond anymore.
Way to change the topic from Iraq to 9/11! Very typical neo-conservative guilt tactic. It is well-known that Libertarians support defense of our nation. I don't know where exactly you got that from. Right, because he's the only one like that in the world, too. :dis: Please don't tell me you fall for that Hitler=Saddam B.S. They were both sick bastards, but Hitler actually posed a threat to the world and was, in fact, actifvely trying to take it over. Yeah, the same ones who promised that Iraq was harboring WMD's and al-Qaeda. I've heard some war supporters on here say that the war could last 50 years, and that they would be fine with that. Do you honestly think that a war can continue for that long without a draft? How so? I don't believe that he has ever suggested that we don't pursue our attackers. Maybe you read into it that way with some preconcieved idea of how you wanted it to sound to support your pseudo-superior view of the world. You see, had we never invaded the place to begin with, this possibility would have never existed. Sanctimonious neo-conservative compassionate crap.
