Until you ever actually make an attempt to refute my claims with factual logic, or do anything other than blurt out random childish insults in regards to them (i.e. the above, 'hogwash', 'typcial liberal B.S.'), your assertions serve only as a testament to my ability to display conviction and to poke holes in other people's thought patterns. You perpetually cast dissent, but never bother to demonstrate that you are capable of formulating equally sound logic. I would have expected more from someone knocking on the door of retirement...then again, maybe not...
By the way, before you fall off of that soapbox, go back and read your inital post in this thread, then come back and talk to me about "hogwash". :dis:
Yes, I realize what you were talking about. Too bad you couldn't decipher/match my smartassedness on that one. Don't feel bad, it's not exactly the most exclusive of groups. Although I give you credit for hanging in there as long as you did.
agree. and the cost of keeping them illegal is way too high. just like alcohol prohibition, it isnt working. i dont mind non english speakers. more americans should learn spanish. for years i have been lazily learning spanish. i never watch a dvd without spanish subtitles. i feel like native spanish speakers have as much right to america as i do. i think it would be nice if the US was a haven for everyone worldwide who wants freedom and democracy and capitalism. but that might be too hard to accomplish for security reasons. we should drain the world of all the smart freedom loving people. we would be the world's meritocracy. and other countries would see it and it would pressure them to change or lose their people. and i dont have any trouble with people who do not wanna assimilate. the united states has no official language. bring your culture with you to america if you like. sell me some empanadas or gyros. i understand but at some point a weapon is so deadly that it needs to be illegal. i dunno where that point is though. it isnt a big issue though.

I mean, according to Bush, they dreamed up thousands of things that weren't there, and George Tenet even claimed that finding all of them would be a 'slam dunk'. So then, why is it that they've never even come close to missing so badly on every single claim? Further, this sort of thing should severely call into question the ability of those who interpret them (i.e. the president). If the intelligence was that bad, shouldn't those higher-up have been able to make that distinction? If not, it should be easy to assert that they are unfit for their positions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do buy the bad intelligence bit and I don't think its a bit odd that our intelligence has never been this bad before because I'm not so sure the average citizen knows when our intelligence has been right or wrong throughout our history. Clinton's intelligence was also wrong and he commented about the danger of Saddam also but didn't act on it. I will say that it appears that our intelligence is wrong but call me skeptical, only after years will we find out and know the total truth. We are looking and attacking our government over a short timespan when history is usually made over years and years, in other words you don't always find out the total truth until later not sooner. Was it bad intelligence when we bombed the Chinese Embasey in Kosovo a few years ago? The problem with a pre-empted strike is you almost always never win the PR war. Who cares about what George Tenet claimed? Who polices the alphabet agencies and their procedures? The alphabet agencies as well as top government officials have been stuck in their ways for years, not sharing intel, etc., arrogant and job security? This is what happens when you have a government that is too big and no one can be fired because of tenure. Someone surely has let us down, this is also what happens when you stop having spys, intel people on the job in other countries, whos stupid idea was that? The top officials couldn't make that distinction because of this reason, we've sure as hell turned out to be a wimpy country. Do you believe what Amnesty International says about Guantanamo Bay? Btw, I will respond but don't think you are going to get me into a long conversation here going on for days cause its not going to happen.
