Even with Gundy as the new head coach, things aren't going to change. 4 or 5 losses is always going to be typical for OSU for the most part. They are a basketball school. They have an all time losing record in football anyway.

Ouch, just had a Tepper flashback. Saban has made that era seem like a century ago. Maybe you guys can keep Clay and we'll just keep Muschamp. We could be like the Bama fans and always want a 'disciple' to coach our D.

Ron Richard of TAF can not be exicted about this hire(probably had to get on medication considering the millions in bonds outstanding). 2005 fundraising should be fun and exciting for TAF

    Not so fast

We are the easiest fans in the world to get along with. There was exactly 1 winning season in the 12 years before Miles got here, 1! Now 3 in a row, with bundles of young talent. We don't want him to go at all. Someone posted that "we don't seem to too broken up about it". What the hell are we supposed to do? There is nothing we can do. LSU is a top 5 job. We are not. I don't blame him, sure I'm dissapointed, but the guy is bettering the situation for himself and his family.
We appreciate what he has done and hope that the next coach can continue to build on that success.

Well, that should bode well for our chances at getting Perilloux.

I don't like the Miles' hire if it happens. I would prefer someone like Nolan or Del Rio, but I think one positive about Miles is that he has been recruiting Texas for the last decade and to a lesser extent OK, LA, and AR. He should have a smooth transition in regards to recruiting. And guys like Demarcus Granger and R.J. Jackson who were deciding between LSU and OSU will be more likely to sign with us.

I hope that he does not make offers to the kinds of players that he has been offering at OSU. You would think that he should be able to recruit the same quality of player that Saban recruited. Just because a guy would be a really good commit for OSU does not mean he is worth a scholarship with us.

I wonder if Russell's performance in the Captial One will make RP less likely to sign with us?

What about Vince Young's performance in the Rose... RP may be thinking about Miami now...

Sounds like a lot of people are saying, "since I didn't get my way, I'm taking my ball and going home"... :dis:

Guess you can't win for trying. If we don't have any news about a head coach, people are pissing in the wind screaming, "WHAT'S TAKING SO LONG?!?!" But since we're closer to getting a coach, there are some out there that would chew their own arm off rather than be happy that we landed someone.

For the record, I was first a Butch Davis backer.....then Tedford and Petrino. I even thought, after the Liberty Bowl, that he was looking more and more "the guy", and I was getting pretty excited by it. But the news on Miles came about, and I've researched him, and frankly, he wasn't my first choice (primarily because I didn't know enough about him), but I'd still be more than happy to have him.....at least the LSU diehard in me will back anyone coaching the good 'ole purple and gold! :geaux:
