Terry Bradshaw was "the guy who didn't want to go to LSU"? You may want to tell this to Terry, who was offered and accepted a scholly to LSU until he essentially failed out of LSU and went to Tech. http://216.109.125.130/search/cache?p=terry+bradshaw+LSU&sm=Yahoo%21+Search&toggle=1&ei=UTF-8&pstart=1&b=31&u=sportsillustrated.cnn.com/magazine/features/si50/states/louisiana&w=terry+bradshaw+lsu&d=RbkIU21aMHaw&icp=1&.intl=us
Odd that I read this thread tonight, and happen to be wearing a Fresno State t-shirt. That's what happens when you're blown away by watching David Carr & Co. on TV one night, having a few beers, and deciding that they're a great team to support. Five years later, and the t-shirt is in my heavy around the house rotation.
This is the last thing I will post in this thread. Terry Bradshaw failed the test ON PURPOSE to get into LSU.
Why the heck would he do that? LSU was the shizzy then and I know that, at the time, Tech wasn't too bad, but pfff... C'mon, man! It's time to wake up and eat your corn flakes! Bert Jones (same era, but came in a couple years after TB) wasn't too bad from what I've read. Bert Jones: 1976 - AP NFL MVP - AP Offensive Player of the Year - PFWA MVP - UPI AFL-AFC MVP Terry Bradshaw: 1979 - Super Bowl MVP 1978 - AP NFL MVP - Bert Bell MVP Trophy (Maxwell Club) - Super Bowl MVP I'm not diminishing what Bradshaw accomplished, and although Jones finished his pro career with less TDs than TB, Jones had a MUCH better TD to INT ratio and higher passing percentage than TB. Jones began to contribute earlier in his career, around his 3rd year, while it took TB his 6th to have a productive season. Plus, and I could be wrong, TB always had the defense that Jones never had... so... TB's career stats: http://www.databasefootball.com/players/playerpage.htm?ilkid=BRADSTER01 BJ's career stats: http://www.databasefootball.com/players/playerpage.htm?ilkid=JONESBER01
BTW, anyone is better than Appy State and The Citadel. I hope I never se those on teh schedule again. I'd rather the team not play a game that week. Fresno is a better game simply because of their schedule will end up being ranked higher than Tech's. (FSU last year was 87, Tech was 108) They play Oregon next year, however Tech plays Texas A&M, California and Clemson next year so that might not be as bad as most people here think in terms of helping LSU in the BCS poll.
Talk about some penis envy from the one or two Babyblue Leghumper football fans out there. Your team got their shot at LSU in '03 and it was 49-Egg at the half(coulda scored triple digits if they wanted to). What you don't get is that LSU-Fresno will most likely be played to a nationwide audience on Espn. Do you even think Espn would consider showing a LSU-La Tech game on their network? The answer is not only no, but HELL NO. Why is you team playing in the Mountain West conference? Because the CUSA schools thought ya'll would bring absolutely nothing to the table. Good job by your fan base by bringing a resounding 7K fans to Independence Stadium in '04 for your game with Tulsa.
