I think giving RP a redshirt year could be the best thing for him. Granted, I'm no coach, but I can't see him coming in and making things happen immediately. He wowed everyone in high school, but it's a whole new ballgame now and it just feels weird to think he can dominate in his freshman year. I think with a redshirt year and then another year as a bonafide backup to JaMarcus (assuming he lives up to his potential and rocks for the next two years, then leaves early for the NFL) RP will be one of the greatest.
Well I agree 100% with what both of you just said, but Ryan WILL NOT red-shirt: He will probably play quite a lot in the NT game if it gets ugly actually.. We got too many games on the docket that he could play if it gets ugly... I know it probably isnt the best thing, but he will be playing this year
Perrilloux is not going to redshirt. I believe this to be a done deal - I also believe it was decided a long time ago. The kid will not wear a shirt unless he personally asks for it.
im thinking that was part of the deal for playing at LSU. you come here, you play. no redshirt. I think that is the main reason he came to LSU, if not one of the main reasons. basically thats it. This guy is going to be something special, I can feel it.
Just as well let him play some this year. Whats the odds of keeping him for four years much less 5 if he is redshirted. Use him while you got him.:geauxtige
remember when they said the same thing about DJ Shockley at Georgia a couple of years ago? btw, I pretty much share the same views as our friend Dandy Don....
I have to agree with batman2 of this one... I just don't see RP sticking around 5 years, much less four... who knows though...
This is the same conversation we were having two years ago about JaMarcus Russell. And we'll probably be saying it all over again in a few years when we sign the next hotshot QB.
this aint mac brown university. no one gets promised playing time. no redshirt, yes. free pt, no. rp prolly ain't sniffin' no redshirt.
