    my wife buys those bags of popcorn you put in the microwave and i've tried them, but heating some oil and popping some corn is not all that hard and it tastes so much better. i'm for fresh popped every time (with lots of melted butter and salt).

    I'm with you. I'll take fresh popped any day of the week.


    Tips:
    Melt some butter in the oil for butter flavor.
    You can heat any type of spice in your oil to give your popcorn that flavor also.
    Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on freshly buttered pop corn for killer sweet corn.

    you can get so creative when you're in control of the process. emeril uses rosemary sprigs in his. i haven't tried that yet but he swears by it.

    Its been so long since I've had fresh popped that I've forgotten the difference. Its so easy to make the microwave popcorn. I just got back from the grocery store. I wish I had read this thread before I went. I would have bought some regular corn to pop.
