Obama struck down the Bush administration's ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide abortion information overseas. It is not FOCA and does not involve Louisiana. Get it right.
 Never said it involved FOCA or LA. I copied the email and then pasted the information on the linked petition about the next agenda, Hyde and FOCA. Hence the title of this thread.
I'm sure your family is concerned about things, but you haven't yet presented any specific reason why, other than telling us they are concerned for vague reasons. What specifically is it about repealing the Hyde Amendment that concerns them? Can you show me a particular part of the FOCA that may force them to do something against their will? What authority do they believe Obama can use to force doctors to perform abortions?
It really is something the "Liberals" in this country excelled at, and something that used to bug the hell out of thinking Conservatives. Now it seems like the Right has adopted the same tactics on alot of issues. Abortion and Gay Marriage come to mind.
You could also argue that the spin doctors also try and make people believe that life begins at conception.
I believe there is a heartbeat within several weeks, but it's been a while since I was pregnant and studying all of that. Some people like to define "life" as when a child is viable outside the womb, but that is well over halfway through a pregnancy. When I was younger, I didn't see a problem with abortion. I really didn't. But as I got older, I knew that I could not have one, and I don't think it's right. As a parent, I definitely wouldn't want one of my daughters running off to have an abortion without my consent.
It would be hard to find someone more pro-life than me, but what we are dealing with in regards to the FOCA is hysteria at this pooint. Nothing has been put into motion yet, and I think a giant leap in the advancement of baby murder would be hard to push through Congress. The President may very much want to sign FOCA, but I don't think he will get the chance. I was very pissed off when Obama reversed the Mexico City Policy. It literally makes me ill that my tax dollars are paying for the murder of little babies overseas. Someone mentioned stats for reasons for abortions so here they are: So it appears that the vast majority of abortions are for selfish reasons.
Since we cannot define when life begins in a manner to gain scientific consensus should we not err on the side of life. I agree with the many scientists who say data suggests life begins at conception. From a DNA stand point that DNA of a 1 day old baby is the exact same as that at the moment of its conception. From that moment that baby has been consuming, and expensing energy, maintains homeostasis and moving to its own benefit.
I agree. I don't think abortion rights issues will change much in either direction, except for changes on using Federal funds.
