I'm not ignoring your point. The point is a poor one and only partially accurate, and you know it. The ferilized egg has its own DNA... distinct from that of the mother and the father. I have never argued that eggs or sperm were deserving of rights. Do you understand that an embryo is different than an egg? An egg is part of a living person an embryo is a living person. Prove it wrong.
An embryo is totally dependent on a host body, thus not single and separate, making it not a person by definition.
That is a reach at best, and it is a poor one at that. How is it not single or separate? Are the various species of parasites that require a host, such as tape worms, not alive because they need the host to live. Are they part of the hosts body?
Red, get it through you head: it is not a religious issue. You don't have to be religious to be against abortion.
It is a specific definition that proves you wrong, I didn't expect you to like it. "IT" is singular, obviously, there is a reason you didn't say "they". I've gone on and on already about how it is not independent, therefore separate. I didn't say it was not living, you have to get off that. I said that by definition an embyro is not a person, as you have claimed. The same applies for the parasites you mention as a distraction. Furthermore, parasites are intrusive. A fertilized egg is a natural part of a woman.
You forget about the abortion doctor who performs the abortion: he/she is the one primarily responsible for the murder. If the mother and/or father conspired with the abortion doctor in the commission of the crime, they would be tried as accessories.
I know you think this, but you may be alone/ Before it was not independent so not alive. Which is it? Re-read your previous posts. You said it several times. How the arguemnt changes. So now human embryos are alive per red, but are not people. What are they? I kinda wish my baby had come out a condor or something like that.
In every country that abortion is illegal, there is an exception for cases when it is necessary to protect the mother's life or health. Regarding an exception for rape, some countries have it, some don't. If abortion were made illegal in the US, everybody would agree there would be an exception for cases when it is necessary to protect the mother's life or health. Regarding an exception for rape, people would have different opinions.
As may you. You speak for no one but yourself. Not by Red, by definition. Skin cells and brain cells are also alive, but that doesn't make them a person.
