I certainly would not argue if the government refused to post inflammatory posters on the walls of the consulate. But again, the anti Muslim film has nothing to do with government property and the government should stop taking a stance on it. It's a religious issue and the government is not to have an opinion on it.
Personally it was nice to see a few Muslims with signs saying the attacks don't speak for all of islam and stuff like that, but no one can deny that Islam is the worst religion out there. It's barbaric, uncivilized, and stuck about 5 centuries in the past.
its staggering the extent to which the mainstream politicians and media will not admit that what lasalle just said is true.
right, i mean what about this movie is disgusting or whatever, according to obama? the fact that some dude was portrayed a certain way? thats what movies do. they have good guys and bad guys. would star wars be considered distasteful if enough people on earth worshiped the sith?
Philosophically, in martinworld perhaps. But its a far bigger deal in the real world at this point. The government is not making philosophical statements about religion, Hoss. It's managing foreign relations, hostile public opinion, the potential for war, and other important issues that should be clear to you. Wise up and try to get the big picture for once.
thats exactly what they are doing.if they are not, then what in particular is obama referring to? what does he mean by " a crude and disgusting video". what exactly was disgusting. the mocking of a fairy tale? if i made a film mocking puff the magic dragon, is that disgusting? this can be viewed in no other context than obama taking a stand on a religious opinion. if supa burned my house down because he thinks atheists are assholes, would we stop and consider whether it was true that atheists were assholes? OF COURSE NOT! the big picture is that nothing is more important right now than free speech and the west showing that they do not stand for violence. you dont tell murderers that their murder was wrong but their anger was justified. like supa alluded to earlier. you dont tell john hinkley that you understand that killing reagan would impress jodie foster but he shouldnt have done it. you dont justify the emotion behind the killing. if anything, obama should have said that he always, in all cases, approves of free expression, and that means that he approves of this film. my star wars example is absurd and precise in its perfection. if guys calling themselves sith warlords started blowing up movie theaters, you damn sure would not say george lucas was "disgusting"! he just had an opinion on a myth! never have i been more right, on a more important issue. fuckers are killing our ambassador and we pussy out? ridiculous. barack should hold up a sign at the UN that says mohammad can lick his dirty black asshole. thats free speech and it is more important than anything.
to further my points about what an outrage this whole thing is: we are talking about a religion that called for the death of salman rushdie for writing a novel. they stabbed a danish filmmaker to death on his bicycle in broad daylight. (would we call his film "disgusting")? this is a religion whose adherents murdered 3 thousand of my neighbors while i watched. and today cnn wont show this youtube clip on tv for fear of retribution! newspapers wont show cartoons out of fear. one of our nations ambassadors is murdered and we call the youtube thing disgusting? but nothing is needed more than anti-islam opinions! critics of islam should be praised, and respected for bravery. we have to stop being cowards. obama says the film is dsgusting. hillary says it is reprehensible. but there is no opinion we need expressed more right now! "that's pussy thinking" - salman rushdie, on the fear of speaking out against islam.
