One has to wonder since Covid symptoms include flu symptoms if that just gets rolled in as well.

When I took my daughter to the DMV a few weeks ago to get her permit, the list of symptoms they asked if we had was a mike and a half long from runny nose to cough to watery eyes and everything in between.

How can one tell between allergies, a cold, COVID, or some Saharan dust in their eyes?

Warned you guys about this poser Anthony "Fashion Mag" Fauci

Anthony Fauci praises New York's coronavirus response: 'They did it correctly'

Many parts of the United States didn't do enough to combat the coronavirus -- but New York state did, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday.

“We've got to do the things that are very clear that we need to do to turn this around," Fauci told PBS NewsHour. "Remember, we can do it. We know that when you do it properly, you bring down those cases. We've done it. We've done it in New York."

"New York got hit worse than any place in the world. And they did it correctly by doing the things that you're talking about," added Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases -- and a member of the White House coronavirus task force.

Since you asked . . . This is a metric the NC DHHS uses as a leading indicator. It % of ER visits with Covid Like Illnesses (CLI). It uses the same system they use for flu reporting every year, since symptoms overlap. The reporting system and pre Covid data was Already in place. This is a leading indicator prior to a Covid test.

These measurements don’t attempt to differentiate between flu, pneumonia, or Covid-19. However, you will note the 2018 and 2019 data is given and is similar. It is not that great a leap of faith, in fact, no leap at all, that based on the uniform nature of flu, over time, in the prior two years, the delta (difference) in the 2020 data is mostly attributable Covid-19.

Again this is simply an indicator, but is free from Covid-19 testing anomalies.
