UTSA fires Frank Wilson; any deadweight coaches on staff... ahem... coaches looking to further their careers elsewhere? https://www.espn.com/college-footba...fires-coach-frank-wilson-4-years?platform=amp
The danger of leaving a top assistants job like he had at LSU to take a low level head job is that you might not have the resources to compete even withiu your own mid level conference. I don't know if that's the case with Wilson or not but now his head coaching resume is tarnished, He can still get a good job as an assistant somewhere but it will be a long time before and if ever he gets a decent head coaching opportunity.
The Lassies are already pining for him. Somehow they think a bit of extra LA recruiting will fix their problems. IoN, Chris Petersen has stepped down at Washington.
With the way we pay assistants, why not take a "low level" job at LSU? At some point this shit is just funny money. Not to mention if you live in BR and your salary is over $500K, like good god you are doing FINE! LOL.
He's gonna come back to LSU. Probably get his old gig back. Always been one of the premier recruiters in the nation while he was at LSU.
