    Stop it before the backup QB isn't the most popular player on the team anymore....

    For the first time in history....

    Even in four years...

    Randall ---> Russell
    Russell ---> Flynn
    Flynn ----> RP

    Before Doucet, Devery Henderson was #9. I don't remember who had that number before him, but I doubt that picture predates that time anyway.

    Yeah, that is definitely either Doucet or Henderson and NOT a QB. I can't remember when LSU had a black quarterback at number 9.

    I can see a little of both sides here. Flynn definitely hasn't been the same since the injury. He holds the ball too long, he's been off on some passes, etc. Saturday is the best he's looked running in a long time. He looked great running the ball.

    Still, people aren't seeing the whole picture. Our receivers have SUCKED. Don't get me wrong, they all are capable of being very good and have all had good plays, but they've dropped a ton of passes. Yes, they've made some catches on underthrowm passes, etc., but there haven't been many. I can't think of any real great catches I've seen this year. Can y'all? The first bomb Flynn threw was perfect, but they called Tolliver for pushing off and it came back (it was a dumb call because the defender pushed him twice and Tolliver still had him beat). Then the second bomb went right through the hands. Yes, the third one was awful, terribly underthrown and intercepted. But everybody is going to have some bad ones (see Kentucky's QB). If they would have cashed in on the first two, we wouldn't have needed to try a third. Also, the dropped TD by the tight end would have sealed that game.

    LaFell had only a couple of catches last year and all the other guys are brand new. You can't blame it all on Flynn. It's hard for a QB to get in a rhythm when a lot of his good passes are dropped balls. It's either Flynn's off or they drop a pass. Without Early, we don't have a great passing attack. Get over it. He's our only consistent receiver. When he was playing, the passing game was good. Without him, we need to run over teams to win. We should have done it with Scott on Saturday, but the coaches wanted to rival Einstein.

    We really should be running a Florida-style offense. With our talent and speed, it would really be tough to stop. We're not using Flynn right. They should be calling more shotgun formations to run QB draws, fake draws, handoffs to Trindon, etc. That would make any defense scared. But we're not. We're lining up in boring formations and trying to run people over. It works pretty well, but the alternative would really be effective. Flynn is a great runner and they need more plays that have more than one option. We certainly had a tough time stopping Florida with all of their options.

    I like RP and believe he should have played in the game more. He didn't have any outstanding runs or anything, but he's very good in short yardage situations. The 2 QB system has been effective for us. Why did they use it through 3 quarters and then abandon it in the 4th and OT? Makes no sense. I would have had him in for a play or two on the last drive.

    I think RP has great potential, but he has extreme difficulty getting plays off in time and has been flagged and wasted time outs a number of times this year. He needs to work on those things before he thinks about becoming our starting QB. You can't have that. I will say, that's one thing that Flynn has been great with so far. We almost never have those problems when he is in there. Of course, we can't complete a pass either. Just kidding.

    For the writer to say Flynn can't lead us to the promised land, etc. I don't think that's true at all. Even when he was having a tough time against Florida, it was Flynn who scrambled on 4th down and goal and found Byrd at the last second in the endzone. It was also Flynn who ran for like 18 yards on 3rd down to put us in a position to go on 4th down on one of those drives. I agree that he needs to play better than he did Saturday. But that goes for everyone including the O-line who was letting Flynn get drilled on many plays. If they call plays that use all of our talent (Trindon, Keiland, etc.), we'd be tough to beat. We do spread it out well. But we need to be more creative and use the hottest ones the most.

    In the end, the O had their struggles, but the D gave it up. Kentucky does have a good offense, but they were missing a couple of their best players. The D should have at least stopped the run. But...everyone is entitled to one off game. I just hope they fix it.

    Jeff can kiss my white ass. I am so sick and tired of this flynn bashing. I have had enough! Look at his record. He has won game after game so shut up! I can't stand it anymore. That kid sat the bench and brought it when he had too. He could of played anywhere in the country being a starter for his entire collegate career. He chose LSU and loved LSU so much he was willing to wait to get his chance to play. I love that kid. More to a team than a QB anyway. Take a look at the team as a whole why don't you! I am so upset at this. Just wait you same SOBs who are bashing flynn will be bashing ryan next year. I would bet on it!
