I think the guy is actually on the money with his opinion of flynn. I have stated that even when we were winning. flynn is no more than a manage the game quarterback an all those types get you is beat when the game is on the line. I know most fans feel like we owe him because he sat for 5 yrs an didnt transfer, oh well i applaud him on wanting tob be a tiger, but his arm doesnt allow the offense to stretch the field even with a healthy ankle his arm was marginal..........Plain an simple you have got to play the superior athlete an thats perrilloux hands down.... Heck i love hester but you and i know that scott should have been in the game alot more..... but thats why we pay miles the big bucks he will figure it out if not we will be stuck with throbbing headaches and a bum big toe hahahhaa i got that from kicking my sofa still freakin hurts.....:cuss:
for the Flynn-haters ..... I hope "they" are listening to you. Nothing would make us AU fans happier than to see RP with the start this weekend ..... and of that, I can assure you. perhaps the photo below will jog your memory about a similar crossroads in the the recent past ......
Ohhh hey everybody, some Auburn dude made a tackle on Doucet a couple years ago. Aren't you scared?! Funny, I don't see the ball anywhere. Maybe that's because it's in his HANDS! I don't think that there's any question at this point as to whether or not RP needs more playing time. And by 'playing time,' I don't just mean running the option or QB-sneaking it. LET THE MAN THROW THE BALL! I've been a major Flynn supporter for quite some time now. But I simply cannot stick by someone that just isn't getting the job done for us anymore. I can't. Our passing attack has been anemic lately. We are not Arkansas, we do have the ability to throw it, and we should. But, I fear that Les is just to doggone old-fashioned, stubborn, or whatever you call it to implement any sort of change. He hasn't done it before, why would he start now?
im not football savvy enough to have an xs and os explanation for why rp would be better than mf. i dont think its unreasonable to expect more from a senior qb. you should be able to trust the coaches' decision, yet with clm's track record i wonder if he's being loyal to a senior. i completely disagree with a previous poster. the defense did fine. 27 to a good o is fine. this was the perfect storm. numerous factors came together to give UK a chance to win.
no pellini didnt say that did he....This is the best defense in ncaa history boy thats stepping out cuz id have to give that to the 90 or 91 albama defense now that was team hardly any1 scored on
because as athetically talented as RP is, he invites greater risk for LSU than does Matt Flynn. Not only is Flynn a more experienced leader, but his ability to read the variety of defensive looks that Muschamp will undoubtedly show will allow MF a much better opportunity to check-down into the correct play. Flynn can beat you with his feet, his arm, and his intellect. Like I said, "pretty please, start Ryan Perilloux" .... IMO, if RP starts, you can expect Auburn to bring-the-house early .... and it will work. Unless, and until, RP proves that he is a repeated deep threat, good defenses can afford to commit to disciplined lane-play that will manage LSU's rushing attack. SEC DC's recognize that they take a much bigger gamble following such a philosophy if Flynn is in the game.
chaos, if I didn't know you better, I think you were a newcomer to LSU football :yelwink2: (take a closer look at the photo :thumb: )
I'm not saying that Flynn is a bad quarterback, but I wouldn't mind seeing RP get more of a chance of running the offense. He did a great job of it against MTSU and whether that was a good football team or not, he ran the offense well. Now, coming in and out every now and again, he's not going to get much of a rhythm going. Also, at this point, I don't think it's fair to say Flynn is the best QB we have. Sure, he's got more experience, but his play the last few weeks has led me to question his abilities.
Must be missing something, man. I can only assume that's the play where the ball popped out and the catch would have put us in FG range to beat ya'll, despite your home-cookings finest effort (in '04). Other than that, it appears to be a rather average football photo.
