You've simply erased Cecil Collins from your memory bank based solely on lack of moral character.

I'm not old enough to remember Charles Alexander because I was a baby when he played (mid 70's, right?). But Fournette will be one to remember. He is simply on another level--beautiful to watch.

I guess we could talk about Collins being the GOAT; however, he only played in 4 games for LSU, and that is not enough of a sample size to crown him. He absolutely was on another level; however, Fournette is the total package, and I do think that eclipses anything that Collins could bring to the discussion of GOAT.

To be honest Cecil didn't really have much game action to really solidify his greatness. I think he had it all but never really was able to show it for various reasons. So I too would leave him off the list of great Tigers. What could have been......

Hes so damn fast for his size. Not just straight line, but his ability to change directions with such speed is what throws defenders off.

There is literally no one else like him in CFB.

For lack of a track record. He didn't play long enough to become a top back--4 games. And he was not the kind of power back that Fournette and Alexander were. He was not a big back at 5-10. His career yardage was 596 versus over 4,000 each for Alexander, Faulk, and Hillard.

Exactly. We can guess that Collins would have been great, but we will never know. He didn't play enough. He broke his leg (not his fault) and then was arrested (his fault.)

Fournette has better balance than Charles (better than just about every back). Alexander could be taken out with a hit low at his feet more easily than LF7.

I went over to peruse a Syracuse fan forum. There was a lot of love and man crushes for Fournette. He apparently represented himself and our university with so much class that they are all wishing for him to win the Heisman. Many are also pulling for us all the way.
