You really think I was making excuses for anybody? You Fugger's leave Lee alone. He played 2nd fiddle to the pet shop boys. The history that put that kid on the field speaks for itself including JJ and his 800 pair of shoes in 11. Sure he wasn't a Flynn or Mauck, but he was a Tiger when others couldn't be.
Yes, a lot of us on here last year were really questioning why against Syracuse, and Eastern Michigan, LSU needed Fournette to run the ball for 200 plus yards, and have Harris throw for 16 passes in one game and 17 in another. The only way teams are going to respect LSU's ability to throw the ball is if LSU throws the ball with efficiency. In the South Carolina game last year, Harris had 28 passes, and Fournette 20 runs, so it can be done. And hell, why not just use Guice and Fournette to block in passing situations and if nothing is there just peel off the block into the flat or or a few yards away over the middle, dump the ball off if nothing is open and let those 2 demons shred up tacklers. Someone said it somewhere here, we are going to know what we have in Harris after about 3 games. Let's hope he's gotten a lot better.
When have we had enough to get by. I guess that depends on what your definition of getting by is. Does getting by mean not having a losing season? Usually getting by means you are still successful but it was really close and in question. Anyone consider the 2015 season a success?
A fact I have accepted a long time ago is that no Les Miles team will ever be balanced in the sense that we'll throw it as many times as we'll run it. That being said, our best teams have been led by QB's who were efficient, didn't throw many interceptions and who could manage the game. Would I love to be more balanced and allow our QB's to play? Of course. But it is what it is for now.
