First of all, can we not spend 1,000 posts talking about whether or not weed should be illegal? It's pointless with regards to the situation and almost everyone agrees that it should not illegal. Secondly, there is so much stupidity in this story. JJ trying to force his way through a gate on his way to do something illegal...Mathieu answering the door...Mathieu CONSENTING to a god damn search of his apartment!!! What is wrong with him? While I think that he should have the legal right to smoke weed, the only way he was every going to play football again is if he didn't. What a stupid, stupid person. He was given every opportunity to redeem himself and all the natural talent in the world...yet he just continued to piss it away.
In so many ways I agree Lasalle. I know many people who need it to stay alive. Not only people with cancer and AIds but those like my GF who has the auto immnune disease celiac and can't eat wheat. If she didn't have it she would not be able to hold anything down. Yet you are arguing the wrong point in this case. It is that they seem to have ignored the long term for a vary short term high. With this case TM7 et al were using in for fun and maybe profit. They knew it was wrong and risky but did it anyway. That my friend is stupid. You can rage against the law all you want and say how harmless it is but if they don't have the sense and will power to control look out for their own interests then it is sad and a waste and stupid. If it wasn't MJ then it would be something else my friend and that is the point and the shame.
You are overlooking the fact that 10 lbs of marijuana was found in the apartment. He was not just a user; he was a dealer. That's a felony.
It's funny to me how many people swear that weed is not habit forming yet some people just can't leave it alone, even if it means ruining their life/career.
