lol the funny thing is, the only thing limiting my "success" is that I chose to go into a field I loved rather than into a higher earning job. I'm good at pretty much anything I do and entertained lawyer, doctor, and computer programmer all at one point.

I love history and hate shitty teachers who don't care enough about it to teach it ... so I got my history degree so I can teach. Weed had nothing to do with giving up really large amounts of $ to do something I love. In fact if I cared about weed more I would have went to the higher paying jobs so I could afford it more often.

Again, this illustates a very basic lack of understanding.

When I was at LSU in the 90s, I smoked with the student body president. I'd say she was pretty damn successful.

So if I want to have fun and get drunk *hey look doing that tonight*, yes my liver will hurt from it, I might even lose 20 minutes of my life ... I also lost 20 minutes from all the fucking salt I ate this week.

The war on drugs is stupid and wastes time, money, lives, etc. It's the law, though, whether you like it or not, so they are stupid for doing it and they're going to have the face the consequences of the law, simple as that.

The media and gov like to attack drugs like weed and steroids. Which yes, both can cause harm. Fact is though there are MANY more legal substances that anyone can purchase over the counter that are potentially more dangerous and often cause more health risk. Things like asprin, even vitamins, etc the list is endless. Often times cause more ER visits than the demonzied weed and steroids.

Basically anything we put in our body can cause both good or bad. People should educate themselves before taking any product, especially if it is known to have side effects. Even if its prescribed, illegal, or OTC.

Would you teach your children to use marijuana?

    Seabrook, do you drink?

I am not going to encourage my kids to drink or smoke pot. However, I have certainly discussed the effects of both with them and they both know that I am for legalization of ALL drugs.

I don't enjoy pot anymore (it's been since my kids were born) because it is illegal. Would I, if it were legal? Hell yes!

I get back spasms from time to time. I get the same 2 Rx's from the doc every single time. It sure would be easier and cheaper to be able to get the same thing OTC. Sure some would abuse Hydrocodone if it were OTC. Many abuse it now. Some abuse alcohol now. I choose not to abuse it. However, I do enjoy drinking when I want to. If pot had been legal for the last 20 years, I would be a lot lighter.

I don't have children actually, however I would not teach my children to smoke weed. This however is not due to a dislike of weed, or thinking it is something they should never do. See, weed actually mimics the natural chemistry already in our brain, what most people don't realize is that some of the most important development is during our adolescent time period. Any major medicines or rather anything dealing with brain chemistry at that time runs the risk of messing with that development.

Once they are past that development, blaze up, but like anything be responsible with it. Control it, don't let it control you.

I'm obviously not going to change anyone's mind here. I'll let the marijuana do that I guess. It astounds me how pervasive it is in our society and that so many people defend the use of it. I guess we shouldn't be surprised if a number of current Tigers are also named in this controversy.
