I think you really have a flawed perception of the effects of it, which I guess is understandable if you haven't used it previously. Yes, there are people that use it as a crutch and an excuse to be lazy. But, I can assure you that these people were alway lazy, and were going to screw up at some point. If someone "needs" pot, they'll just find something else in its absence. It's called co-dependency, and it takes many forms.

It's really just like anything else recreational in that it's Ok in moderation. It's the ability to moderate it (or lack thereof) that indicates a person's weakness to it, but that is an issue with the user, not the drug.

Never heard anyone say that, but are you denying that recreational things are Ok in moderation? Like, say, alcohol? Caffeine? Clearly, lack of moderation with either those substances can have very harmful effects.

My job and future jobs require that I don't use it. However, I'm one of the hardest working people at my job, and also one of the smartest. So I'd say it didn't have any negative effects on me

 

I'm saying I think it's stupid to use non-prescribed substances, such as marijuana or alcohol, that severely impair judgement. Impaired judgement = danger/harm. Saying you only do it in "moderation" is only a form of denial.

 

Just think how much more successful you could have been if you hadn't used it.

 

Prescribed substances often have negative side effects as well. So thats a moot point.

 

This is bullshit. Denial of what? What am I denying? "Harmful" is an objective term.
