I had never heard of Gary Woodland until I saw he was leading the US Open.

Born in Kansas, went to the University in Kansas and still lives in Kansas. How boring. But he has a world ranking in 25 so he has quietly been making a great living while staying under the radar.

Until now.

I have been told that on numerous occasions! I wish I could take credit for it, just good genes, like they say, "if I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself."

 

I watch right much golf. I’ve seen him from time to time on Sunday, but never for extended times. I suppose that means he has been sniffing around the top, from time to time, but I don’t recall him in the final group or two.

 

Saw this other day, from BR no less. Brought a smile to my face since losing my last surviving grandmother at 99 this spring. Active and witty all the way to the end.
