I wish I had time to play and my back could handle it. Now I fish or go camping, or both. Thinking about buying another boat.

I wish I still had my boat.

Isn't camping and sleeping on the green a bit hard on your back? I never cared for camping just for the sake of camping. When I was a broke college kid I would camp on Elmer's Island to go fishing because I couldn't afford a hotel and still had money for beer. Was $5 per vehicle to go there. Always had sand in the tent which got into everything including the food. Really put the sand in sandwich.
Just when you thought you had killed the last mosquito and were trying to fall asleep somebody would leave the tent to piss and more mosquitoes would swarm in.

What other reason is there to camp?

Reread the post above. To save hotel money for beer. Look, I like being in the woods and building a fire and cooking over the coals as much as the next guy but unless you are near a good fishing hole what the hell is there to do all day?

Of course with today's technology it would be easy to have your music and set up a satellite TV. Go camping on Saturday, watch an LSU game that night and a Saints game Sunday. And then go home and put anti itch medicine on all your bug bites.

So @mctiger I'm down if you want to try and organize something...I was already wanting to plan a trip to SC in the fall but it can be more local. I guess the first thing is to figure out who is in and then where? DFW area? Little Rock? Shreveport?

@shane0911 Hell, I was assuming we're all in the general area of Baton Rouge. I can't travel in the fall, I work high school football games for my TV station every Friday night.

Do you do play by play? That would be cool.

I have done it and still do occasionally, but my regular gig on Friday night is director/producer.

Play by play is harder to do well than most people think it is. Zach Strief was pretty bad at first but he got better and better as the seasons progressed. Of course nobody's will ever replace Jim Henderson.

Agree, but TV play-by-play is a much different animal than radio, where you really have to paint a picture of what's happening. Good TV pbp guys, IMO, are minimalists....Summeral was the best. Make sure your viewers know the game situation and who's making the play they are seeing.
