Nope. I occasionally played with players with medium to high handicaps. They attempted to play by the rules. I don't recall any of them ever hitting a tee marker.

 

I've been seen that one. On a couple of occasions I have swung and missed the ball completely in my drive. What is the rule in that? I just called them practice swings.

hmm, i'd be so furious i'd probably insist on playing that ball as it lay as some kind of Opus Dei like mortification.

 

I think I would have told my father in law to attempt something that was physically impossible, packed the clubs away, and headed to the 19th hole.

 

But my club never touched the ball. I can't be cheating if I don't know that rule and none of my playing partners objected.

 

Try that excuse in a tournament. But then again I doubt that you played in any tournaments.

 

Never played in a tournament. Besides it was a long time ago so the statute of limitations has passed.

Is there a statute of limitations in golf?
I saw an episode of the Highlander where Duncan Mccloud was pissed because he found out his friend had cheated him in golf 200 years before.

 

I don't know. Normally any scoring issues are settled before you sign your scorecard.
