We play dollars on the par 3's but you have to hit the green to qualify and dollar closest to the pin. Also play GIR,'s and .50 a hole My fil loves to play wolf
We typically played a $2 dollar Nassau with an automatic press if you or your opponents were 2 down. We typically had a wager for the longest drive on the 4 par 5s and closest to the pin on the 4 par 3s. Not a hell of a lot of money involved unless your group had the D game. Of course the winner bought the beverages after the round.
Hey, it was a belly putter and since I'm a towering 5'6" tall I can assure you it wasn't a "long" putter!
Thanks for reminding me. We also paid off for sandies. Normally if all were on their normal games it was pretty close to a break even situation or a dollar two swing. Nobody made enough to retire early.
So you could win $5 or $10 bucks and wind up spending $50 to $100 buying everybody drinks. Lets say you and I are tied at 18 and we're both on the green. You make your putt and we are still tied. If I make my birdie putt I win. You and the other 2 guys in our foursome each give me $5. Then I watch that and the rest of the contents of my wallet grow wings while y'all slosh dowm double scotches. Do I make the putt or do I 2 putt and give you $5 and then drink on your dime?
You are using exaggerated numbers and making false assumptions about our matches. If our bar bill came close to your numbers we would have to have hired a limo to get us home.
Also, remember we were playing on a military installation where the bar prices at the 19th hole were considerably cheaper than those at a private country club. The bad news was that you had to limit your consumption. You couldn't risk getting stopped by the military police and failing the blow in the device test.
