There are two ways to watch golf at a tournament. Either pick a spot on a hole (most choose the green) and watch everyone come through or walk the course bouncing from group to group. You have to know the course to know when to move to different holes.
I would think there would be a big crowd following Tiger or one of the popular golfers or the leaders on the last 2 rounds. So if you followed Tiger by the time he reached the green there would already be a crowd of people who are watching that hole. I don't think I would enjoy the spectator experience but I would enjoy just being at the Masters or maybe the British Open with all the British or Scottish ambience.
If you are going to follow Tiger, it is best to follow him for a hole then jump ahead a couple of holes to get a good vantage point then jump ahead for another couple of holes. Following him for 18 holes is crazy. You aren't going to see many shots.
Until a month or so ago not nearly enough. Now I try to get on at least twice a week and at least one round on the weekend if I can get on. The tee times fill up quickly so the schedule doesn't always work. Last week I bit the bullet and played one of the local trails but it was worth it.
As usual I got up to take a leak and am awake and watching the Open. McIlroy started the day with a quad on his first hole.
Duval shot a 48 on the front nine including a 13 on one hole. He'll be damn lucky to break 90. I wonder if Chamblee is chuckling?
Definitely a tournament round and being that he didn't win he may have been pissed about his play that day. I remember it was between the green and the next tee box he had to walk through a crowded area. Someone tried to sneak in a photo as he was walking through the crow. He turned pointed at the guy and yelled No Cameras! I was surprised that the people were able to get as close as they did.
Duval was 5 over for the last 4 holes and shot 90 on the number. I wonder if he will WD. McIlroy shot 79. Doubtful he will make the cut.
