It's just a hard/exaggerated slice. I'm sure it's practiced; a lot. It's really not that difficult of an escape, but it's the practice that lands it on the green. Stance is open, face is open, contact on the ball at about 4-5 o'clock swinging through to 11/12 o'clock. I'm certainly not as accurate, but I can pull that one off.
Good question, I'm not sure what its called, maybe an "oh shit" shot where when I am in that sort of trouble like under a bush or something where I take a hybrid or a wood and just hit the crap out of it like really hard putting stroke. Usually punches out a worm burner that will skedaddle 180 or so down the fairway. Gotten quite good at it You haven't seen me play golf. Sometimes that is a must, like in this situation. I couldn't use my normal method because I was less than 100 out so I had to try and find the right swing to get it where I needed it but not too much. I didn't quite get it right. See the above, I will however start working on some of those "saves" and see what I can come up with. Playing again tomorrow morning.
How often are you able to practice? On average, long are your practice sessions? How much time to devote to your short game?
