Sam Saunders, Arnie's grandson finished in a T10th at the Tour event. I wonder if he inherited Arnie's jet?
Here's a question. How are you planning on practicing for that very scenario in the future? Personally, I didn't pull my 3i/4i out of my bag until I was able to hit a hooded 5i and keep it waist high or lower. People will look at you a little funny when you're doing that at the range: experience speaks for that.
Four Golf Shots You Never Practice (But Should) Hooded Iron Shot Sometimes when we’re under a low-hanging tree branch, we are forced to take our medicine and chip out, but if we can do so by still advancing the ball into a range for a shorter approach we can still be a minor hero. You can practice it with any iron and then learn how hooding the club (arms in a slightly forward press, delofting the club and ball back in the stance) makes the trajectory much lower. If you learn to make solid contact, you can use the shot to get out of a lot of trouble. The opposite of what you're doing in the sand with an open face. I close my stance off a bit as well.
@shane0911 adding one thing. One of the best recommendations I have ever received was never try to create/invent a shot when you're in trouble.
