I was playing the LSU course when I was in school and hit a drive that went straight down the fairway. For about 100 years until it took a 90 degree turn to the right and hit the door of a car that was driving down the street parallel to the hole. The driver didn't even slow down.

9 hole course. Par 34. It's in Memphis, Overton Park, and it runs alongside Poplar Avenue (one of the busiest streets in Memphis.)

I've seen at least two dozen (if not more) hooked drives off the tees box on 6,7, and 8 right into traffic. Windshields, hoods, you name it...never a collision as a result though.

Nice little layout you can get around in a little over an hour for nine holes.

Probably a dozen times or so over the last 20 years. They have over 30 now I believe.

Since you mentioned it earlier...at Palmetto Dunes, the only course I've not played there is the one designed by Robert Trent Jones. I've played the Authur Hills course a few times and George Fazio's twice. I've been through all four at Hilton Head Plantation twice, played the Golden Bear last year, Old South, Baroney...

Sea Pines is on the "to-do" list.

I'm guessing there are at least 20 "championship courses" within a few miles of the house (figure an hour drive with the rivers, marsh lands, etc. you have to drive over/through.) Likely a total of 100 or so within an hour and half from my doorstep. (not counting Myrtle Beach, et. al.)

There's nothing about Alabama I don't like. However, I sacrifice the proximity to ball games for golf (and of course I have some family here now and...well, ya know, a job.)

No, I told you, I was freaked out because I had just launched one into her garage. I was fearing for my wallet at that point and all I cared about was getting out of there as fast as I could. I never said what kind of ball and she didn't ask I just knew I had an out and I took it.

I think I played one of his courses in Destin a few years ago. I may have played two but not sure on the 2nd one. Nice track, think I shot in the 80's

Everything I've read about it has been rave reviews. What's the average green fee?
