That's the thing - the record AND the recruiting right now support Miles. The folks saying "just wait until Saban's talent is gone" don't seem to realize we're in good shape there for at least two more years, given the currfent talent and the success Miles is having with recruiting due to the current state of the program. I think we'll be competitive for that time frame at least, but it still doesn't keep me from feeling uneasy about the coaching. If we have 5 games decided by 4 points or less in the coming years - I seriously doubt they will all fall our way.
I've tried to defend Les Miles all year to those who were critical of him, because I wanted to be fair to the man. But at roughly this time last year, I was vehemently opposed to his hiring because of the underlying fear that I had then, that I saw come to fruition last night...the man is simply in over his head.
to be honest, I have reservations about Miles, as I would with any new coach. as a fan we become comfortable when things are successful and status quo, and that all changed this year with a new coach, new QB, and other factors. to bury a guy and write him off after not even one season is unreasonable in my opinion....but apparently that makes me a Miles faithful and apologist. a coach must be given 2-3 years to prove his worth, not 12 games. I feel some of you are just wanting to be the "I told you so's" just so you can rub it in people's face if this ship sinks...I will not name posters in this category. I just would have never of thought LSU could go 10-2 and have as much crying and complaining as we have had this year about coaching.
hey, since you know this already...what are the mega millions numbers for this Tuesday night? :thumb:
You said MAYBE the problem was his laid back attitude, which means that you definitely think it exists, but sometimes it's not always a problem. I picked that because it's a common theme on here for people to say that he's "laid back" which is bullshiat. It's the only point in your argument that doesn't hold up. It gets old seeing the terms "laid back" and "way in over his head" over and over again because it's simply not true. Players aren't executing and, unfortunately, he can't control that. Of course, he can stress execution to his players, but it's ultimately up to the players. Maybe you could point out some coaches who ARE laid back and some who ARE NOT to give me a better feel for your definition.
If you think a 10-win season and SEC Western division title and current #4 recruiting ranking is "destroying", then I really feel sorry for your pitiful life. The only people that have the power to destroy this program are unsatisfied, unreasonable and unrealistic fans like yourself.
