"Hey 3! 3! Is there any particular reason you didn't tackle that son of a b!tch instead of letting him catch the farking ball again?!!? Got dam son if you can't stop him clean, cheat!!!" My old high school coach.
mckay's quote about being in favor of his team's execution is my all time fave sports line. i think when he was at tampa he also went on a long post game speech talking about why his team lost. he ended it with "quite simply, we didn't block. but we made up for it by not tackling.":hihi: also was it was woody hayes who had the line about going for two unecessarily at the end of a game against michigan and when asked why he went for 2 he answered, "because i couldn't go for three." can't remember who said that one but it's classic.
A college baseball coach (do not rememebr who) once said "Our hitters can't hit and Our pitchers can't pitch, but we make up for it with poor fielding and bad baserunning":hihi:
Can anyone post the exact quote I'm paraphrasing? It's something to the effect of being able to tell who's a good coach, not by how a team plays when they have good players, but how they play when their players less talented. Does this make sense? What's the exact saying?
