That's quite a leap, dude. I'm hopeful, but no way does pure speed just translate into one of the best CBs in the SEC. I seriously doubt that he's an upgrade over Hawkins if this is his first full year as a CB, playing opposite a guy that QBs will be trying to stay away from.
If a guy can cover, he can cover its that simple. If Claiborne has the intangibles he just needs to learn the schemes.
Not really possible in the NFL or the SEC. Defenses have to be deceptive and unpredictable or they can be beaten.
I agree, but covering has less to do with speed and more to do with technique. There are plenty of 4.3/40 guys who can't cover and plenty of 4.6/40 guys who can. The amount of ignorance in this statement just astounds me. I literally do not know how to reply other than to just say "No". All the intangibles in the world will not cover a guy like Julio Jones without excellent technique.
I'll take Patrick Peterson's word over yours, coach! From a person who has played the position, intangibles basically means having the physical talent, technique, and mental ability. After that its just learning the scheme of the defense. I also never said speed would make up for the other attributes in being a good corner, if you can point out where I implied that, it would help.
