I used to pour over stats and study shit like I knew what I was doing, but with the exception of a game or 2 a week, it really ended just being a crap shoot for me.

In the end thats all it ever really is. Anyone with a "system" will surely want your credit card before they show you how flawed it is.

If one has an emotional investment in a game, only a fool would make a wager on that game.

Like those scammers that give you one 'free' pick over the phone. They give half the people that call get Team A to win and cover and the other half get Team B.

I am playing in a yahoo league for college football pick 'em with point spreads.

I am 27-12 against the spread. Anybody who knows anything about it knows that's a crazy high winning percentage, almost unheard of actually. And I have never been better than usually around .500 on ats picks in my history.

I missed the 2nd week so I got 0-25, which sucks since I did so well in the other 2 weeks.

That is insanely good. Wish you had joined my ats pickem league. We needed a few more players. You can catch em at that rate.

The year the Bears won their Super Bowl with that insane '46' defense, I gave a friend the Cowboys and 17 against 'da Bears. Chicago 44, Dallas 3. We're not friends anymore.

Mizzou line just jumped from -6 to +1 in about 5 hours. Anyone know why?

Too many bettors taking the underdog and the points. The oddsmakers don't gamble, they even the bets and collect their percentages.

Yep, once there's too much money on one team, the line changes to encourage people to take the other team. Aside from the huge payouts they get when all the money is on a team that loses, a perfect world for bookies would be an even amount bet on both teams. That way, they pay the winners with the losers money and pocket the juice.
