Any idea what "evidence" Carl Dubois is referring to?

Miles and Crowton held back in the spring, but there's evidence that Flynn, a fifth-year senior, will alternate with sophomore Ryan Perrilloux if opponents seem vulnerable to such a rotation.

I'm not sure what he's reading into the QB situation. Looks like Matt has it locked up at present. Don't recall seeing, reading, hearing etc. anything about a rotation at QB. Did I miss the memo on that ?

I haven no idea. It's no secret that Flynn will graduate and Perrilloux will be expected to start next season. Les doesn't want to have a green starter at QB for two straight years. Perrilloux will get plenty of PT, so he can be at full stride next year.

Dubois seems to have forgotten Hester at running back. He also thinks the punter needs "improved protection" when we didn't have a single punt blocked last year.

There has always been some that felt we could use RP like Tebow last year. After the legal incidents the talk kind of died down a bit. It could very well happen toward the middle of the season because Crowton loves to throw out new looks and wrinkles week in and week out. I think Miles will keep RP grounded a bit in the beginning of the season after the incidents this Summer and then we could see RP used like Tebow some this year if it works out the 1st couple of times.

I guess he's going off the speculation that RP could be used similar to the way Tebow was last year. That being said, I have not seen or heard anything from Miles or practice reports to indicate this to be the case.

I couldn't point you to the source off the top of my head, but I know I've read Crowton comments this offseason where he's said he'll play both, even at the same time/same backfield.

Coupled w/ his comments on Trindon, looks like Crowton wants to utilize all weapons in the arsenal one way or another.

Don't disagree with you . I just wonder what the "evidence" is. We'll see. Not against it if it helps us win football games !

I'm sure Perilloux will "rotate" in sometime during the 4th quarter of most of the games as long as LSU has a comfortable lead.

Best guess, that article was written shortly after spring and was part of the College Football Yearbook they mention at the bottom of the article. I took a quick look and didn’t see it in the SEC Preview that I have, but the main LSU writeup was done by Dave Moormann (an underrated writer imo who sometimes covers LSU) who said:

I think it’s fair to say that post spring, before Perrilloux got suspended, there was more talk of him getting some playing time beyond mopup duty. Anyway I do think it was written months ago, and if it were a recent article I’m confident that Dubois would have referenced Miles’ comments about the Pac Ten…

I believe Florida blocked one last year. That being said, it does appear as though the formation does provide more opportunities for fakes. I am also curious to see how it fares against VaTech.
