    Ever heard of Tom Brady?

Flutie and Ro will battle for #2. I have no doubt that if Ro looks like he is progressing that he'll be the #2.

Purely conjecture, I know, but I've seen it reported on rumor sites that Saban is interested in Davey (no surprise, I'm sure).

Trading Davey to Miami could be beneficial for both parties at this time: New England can now trade Davey since Flutie is a solid #2 (even for a guy his age) and Bellicheck can get something now for Ro via trade instead of getting nothing after the season once Ro becomes a UFA.

Miami's interested b/c, instead of being one of a number of suitors for UFA-Ro Davey, they get use of his services this year (when he'd battle Feeley for the #2 spot behind Frerotte with an eye on challenging Gus next year) plus they'd get "home field advantage" in trying to sign Ro to a new deal before the end of the 2005 season.

If Saban really thinks Ro can start in this league, then securing him in a trade with, say, a 3rd round pick at this time is a reasonable price to pay, IMO, assuming Miami has its full slate of picks available to use in the 2006 Draft.

My husband has a business contact in Boston who tells him that the NE fans don't like Rohan. I don't know why, but that's the word I hear.

Guys, I'll settle this for you all...

Flutie made comments in the Sports Section on Saturday that he wasn't sure his role for New England would be on the field at all. He made mention that, "if I'm needed to be a sounding board for Tom," that would be the role he'd fill.

He also mentioned being a help "in the classroom", moreso than on the field...I think Flutie is looking to lateral into the coaching ranks, and I couldn't think of a better place to do it than the 3 of 4 Super Bowl Winners, who also just happened to lose their Offensive coordinator and quarterback coach...

Flutie is not going to be a #2, that's for sure...His own comments make this apparent.
