Florida State Seminoles put on 4 years probation for cheating

It's my understanding that FSU will vacate their wins, but that's not the same as forfeiting. In football the term vacate means your wins are removed, but your opponents' records remain unchanged. As best I can tell for championships it's similar, another team is not awarded the championship but in true NCAA form they merely apply a footnote in the record books.

It's confusing and hard to get a clear cut answer, but it does seem more about removing recognition rather than rewarding someone else.

 

Its funny how they took action against this so fast and USC incidents are basically disappeared and IMO theirs is the worse out of the two. Internet Classes etc. vs Paying for players & families homes, players staying in houses that everyone knows they can't afford list goes on.
