Phone worked OK yesterday after restarting it. Have the same problem again this morning but restarting doesn't solve it. Have heard several reports of cell towers out. ATT has a major outage
tell them to download hangouts which is google voice. they can wifi dial that way assuming they have internet. or any wifi caller app.
One of our switching centers that carries network traffic in the Baton Rouge area is flooded due to severe weather. We are deploying resources including Cell on Light Trucks (COLTs) and Emergency Communications Vehicles (ECVs) to restore affected wireless services as quickly as possible. AT&T also has technicians and resources, such as generators, staged for additional restoration work as soon as damaged areas are safe to access. We are monitoring our network closely and will continue to coordinate with local officials and utility companies. We recommend customers text before calling when possible and utilize Wi-Fi where service is available. im sure all will be restored once the flooding is contained and people are safely in their shelters. nothing like huge unresponsive companies in the middle of a disaster going on 24 hrs.
I last heard from my parents in Watson last night at 10 via text. Their landline was out and they could not call on either cell phone. They also had no cable or Internet. On Facebook, I saw that Oak Point grocery store is open there this morning, and my parents are only two streets west of that, so I'm hopeful that they are not flooded.
It even flooded as far north as Avoyelles and Rapides Parish. My aunt in Marksville woke up at 4 am Saturday morning to both cars and their house flooded.
