Shit, damn public pool is run by those jokers up here.

Go on a cruise, unreal, not that it's a bad thing but you wouldn't think you would see a lot of black folk on a cruise.

    Wrong

I know YOU didn't say that....I did. The truth is that swimming in the US is tinted with racism and access. Sure there are folks that are fearful but that's why its so important for there to be black athletes in the pool. It sets a standard and encourages others to try.

This is lengthy but very informative.

Oh ok. Sorry I misread your post.

I'll take your word for it on the link thingy. I'm from the country anyway. We learned to swim in irrigation canals, and bayous.

    same here.
toss a kid in the bayou enough times and he'll learn to swim.

Dam straight. There was a bayou with swimming hole that had a big rope tied to a tree. That was one place many people would go. One of my friends from another community (played ball against him) walked down from the hole and jumped in- head first- out of a tree. I was told his feet never went under the water. He's in a chair now.

I learned to swim in a river. No pool.

We were in the middle of Vermillion Bay trolling, Dad just tossed me over because they had the net up and I was in the way.

Where would you expect to see them, in a sweet potato field?
