If there is a heating element in it, that means there will be pressure. I give this about 0% chance of fixing your problem.

Won't work, remember those are under heat and pressure. If you look, they have a safety that releases on temp. and pressure. This is by design. What brand of trailer?

Sound like this is a gas heater, some of the newer models are dual, gas/electric.

Doesn't matter as far as Shane is concerned. That said, he said there was an element inside which is what I referenced. The black stuff might not melt w/ the temp, but will certainly fail w/ the combination of heat and pressure.

Fix it right the first time Shane. Take it to a repair shop!

Went back and read, so it does sound like a dual heater.

OK, we are derailing now, but what makes you think it is dual? Gas is not mentioned anywhere? Just curious as I have no experience w/ RV water heaters.

If you are in an area without power, they use gas (Which he said the Rv has).

I know about the generator part, having had both. The Frig on these also run off gas while going down the road, not having to run the generator.

You did well for someone that knew little of his problem.

The RV refrigerator uses gas to heat a refrigerant (For years Ammonia was used), this is a little know fact. Many would ask how gas was used in an RV for the frig.

As for the idiot part, you're sounding too much like me.:D

You're not the only one brother. If I had checked the gas prior to last winter this thread would have never been born. I didn't figure it would work so now I get to spend that 20 on booze. Yay ME :D

Bad part is I now have to find another way to fix the stupid water heater.

It is a Dutchman Danali, 28'. Taking it to the dealer is a lot easier than it sounds. #1 it is married up to my deck down at the lake and is a complete bitch to get in and out of there.

#2. I don't currently own a truck with enough ass to pull the damn thing. I'd be picking up pieces of my transmission before I got it out of the park if I hooked up to it with my current sled.
