Sure Lafitte... I never posted anything here before the Saban era.... And you are going to tell me that I have 300 posts here that targeted how poorly Saban was doing? You yourself just said that I was trying to kick LSU when you are down. Why would you say that if you truly thought that LSU made the right choice? Did you slip and not mean that? Or, just afraid to admit openly that deep down inside you realize and fear that Miles isn't right for the job? Under Saban, LSU was the class of the SEC West. As for me, I simply don't think that Miles will be as successful as Saban was.
The only thing I knew about Nick Saban at the time of his hire was that we'd ripped his MSU team to shreds in the '95 Independence Bowl. If we want to start holding Les Miles' unimpressive losses against him, why don't we talk about a few of the ones we suffered during the Nick Saban era? For that matter, did this '04 squad ever look like defending national champions? We couldn't hang in the top 10 for even a month of the season--and we were all shocked with how bad be looked against Oregon State. I supported Coach Saban, and I'm happy he was here. But he wasn't a god. Now, let's throw our support behind Coach Miles and his staff, Tiger fans. He's got a lot more to work with now at LSU than he had at OSU. Besides, the timing of Saban's departure (after 7 or 8 schools had hired coaches) made the search pool more shallow than it would've been, say, the day after the Arkansas game.
lol, that's my point. We would have many questions about him as well, and just about any other coach too!
Jackie Sherrill was hired away from major conferences too. You'll have to come up with a better arguement than that.
Hey, Genius. This website DID NOT exist before the Saban era! Your history of hating LSU goes back to LSU message boards that you frequented prior to the existence of TigerForums. I'm not going to discuss ANYTHING with you regarding LSU sports. I don't care one whit what you think about LSU sports, because you hate LSU, and pull against LSU in just about every game we play. FINALLY nobody cares what you think about Saban OR Miles.
You have me mixed up with someone else LaFitte... I am more concerned with Auburn getting too strong than in LSU getting too weak. I do not want Auburn to become another OU.
