I'm not so sure we'd have been better off with either. Fisher may not have been much of an upgrade. FSU is getting their asses handed to them by Houston right now. So, Fisher does not have this team motivated or prepared properly. Additionally, Gholson is apparently a head case, and there is not an adequate back-up. At the time, I felt Herman would have been a more exciting hire for us. Of course, many believe that Herman is waiting out the Texas job, but honestly, that's a major rebuilding project. I feel like LSU is the better job, but if his heart would be in Austin, well...
To point 1. FSU doesn't care, this bowl is beneath them. Having none of his players in jail is a win. Ask TCU Point 2, I think the TX rumor has been debunked, no record of Herman saying he wants that job. He may get the one in college station however, closer to home for him. Either would have been upgrades over your uncle
