I don't think it's confidence with JaMarcus. It's about his decision making ability. He is still having a few growing pains and when he starts showing he can consistently (the key word) make smart decisions with his throws - it will tremendously open up the passing game. We also had a few dropped balls tonight... that's probably a part of it.
To be fair to Jimbo, he was around when Rohan and Josh Reed blew up when we won the SEC Championship and the Sugar Bowl.
I liked the counters, think the WRs should be more aggressive on blocking. You will turn more corners with their help. Do a little more play action and throw 15-20 yds downfield. Did not see any good ball handling, a RB went by as JR took his drop, you have to use the fake. Run more picks, I mean, crossing patterns near the sidelines. Bowe comes under and Green or Doucet breaks free. Move the chains or the numbers on the score board. Make the tight ends wear Velcro Gloves.
well, he "might not be", but you shouldnt take squat from the last two wins. we'll find out against evenly matched competition. my guess is that our D will be sufficiently comfortable with the scheme by then. i liked how the DBs actually covered their WRs,but i dont know if thats because we put so much pressure on cutler or because the DBs get it. we wont be able to pressure the qbs of better teams like we have MSU and Vandy.
LSU has depth and speed at wide receiver. The coaches need to understand how to utilize the talent. For example, run a spread formation with X and Bennie running deep routes and you have choice of Skyler, Buster , Early and Bowe running underneath 15-20 yd intermediate routes...can't be defended. I agree all eyes need to look at Jimbo going forward; he has the continuity with these players and has yet to be creative.
How good does a guy have to be for others to think he is consistent in his decision making? 64% completion ratio with only 2 int's out of 113 attempts, looks like he has been very consistent in his decision making. And only one of the int's was a poor decision, last nights. He threw a bullet between 2 defenders. The one vs UT was just a poorly thrown ball to a wide open receiver. sh!t happens sometimes. If JR can average 1 interception every 55 passes all season I will be extremely happy.
that was ice skater scott hamilton, err sean my daddy gets me jobs mcdonut. gottfried was actually complimenting our number of fans onhand in the face of katrina adversity. mcdip**** was out of line on his soapbox.
it sure looked like "mcdip****" was looking for the opportunity to bring the UT bus thing up. extra brash for a play-by-play guy.
