I had a 74 Spirit of America Vega! No name, other than "dad bought it and I had something to drive". Off topic sorry couldn't resist.
The first song I remember asking my parents to buy for me was that "Star Wars Disco" tune by Meco. My parents found it for me on a K-Tel Disco Compilation called "Disco Fire" if I recall. The first music I purchased with my own money was a cassette of Depeche Mode's "Black Celebration". It started my fascination with that band because the music was sooo different than anything Top 40 radio was playing at the time. Still my favorite band and still making great songs.

I didn't say that very well. I wasn't attempting to compare them over a career but at one concert. Shelia E opened up for Prince that night. She was over the top excellent, he was just sorta' okay. Maybe he had a bad night or something.
yea i have been to a few of Prince concerts, one of them just blew me away. but the others were just so so
bought willie nelson, stardust, in a delchamps super market when i was 5 or so because it was 3 dollars. guess no one wanted it. i didnt even know who willie nelson was and i didnt own a cd player. :insane:
All I know is he did some really strange stuff on stage and so did his guitar. Shelia was a firecracker, banging on those drums like a mad woman. Her dad came up and played a couple songs too.
