A very entertaining thread, with a lot of input. I can in no way happy about Missouri. But I can't come up with a better, and realistic candidate. Seems like Sec is settling for Missouri, and Missouri is settling for Sec.

Think I will stay in dinosaur mode and pine for 12 team conference.

I would have preferred a school from the east area. A school like Virginia tech or Florida state since we have a school from the west in tamu. Clemson would have also been a good pick. They are relatively successful and have an sec level stadium and a sec caliber fan base.

Just saw a crawl on CBS sports network that a majority of SEC presidents and athletic directors would vote to accept Missouri, BUT not enough for acceptance.

Agreed! They come off as arrogant to have to settle for the SEC but I believe the SEC will have to have 14 teams because they won't be dumping a team.

With TCU possibly joining the Big 12 and an article saying the Big 12 may possibly try for Tulane (only for recruiting purposes in La.....according to ESPN article), Missouri may decide to stay because they really don't want to come to the SEC if they don't have to and hoping one day the Big 10 will come calling. JMO, this will leave the SEC needing that 14th team and West Virginia being the only option because the Big East will fold.

But hey over the many decades, Missouri has an overall winning record over the SEC.

    Missouri Records vs Conference

Bama and Auburn will never agree to being in separate divisions.

I bet the east is trying to block this. Why would they want to take auburn and give us a much weaker MO.
