well, i was wrong! congrats to flay. maybe to show him some respect i will head over to his restaurant, mesa grill, which is a few miles from my apartment.
i am sure enough money will get anything delivered anywhere. morimoto's place is nobu, in new york, which unfortunately i havent been to either, but my friends report was pretty tasty a few months ago. anyways, i am pretty suprised by the first IC battle. america 1, japan 0.
I don't think I'm gonna like Iron Chef America more than the original........something just doesn't seem right...
they made some polite comments about it, saying it worked well with the bananas or whatever, and that the trout taste was subtle. but maybe it was the reason they scored flay higher in the taste department.
and batali wins match no. 2! america 2, japan 0. no way puck brings home the sweep and defeats morimoto.
I didn't get to see tonight's contest. I'm in San Francisco goofing around. Who did he compete against tonight?
tonights match was batali vs morimoto, the ingredient was "spiny lobster" batali won. the final match will be wolfgang puck vs morimoto. since flay already knocked off sakai, america leads 2-0, and is counting on puck to finish the sweep. morimot is the only iron chef that has two matches in the the first set of series.
