The "young" player excuse has been used for 3 years now. Guys that are any good, are "here" 3 years, there is no more "grow up" time. The players have to be put into a system that allows their talent to be optimized. Les Miles 1970's version of football is over.

Exactly, so that's why it didn't necessarily make sense to throw it more like the other poster said. Read the context of the conversation.

It's not an excuse. Last year, we were playing a bunch of freshmen who made mistakes. Now hose freshmen are sophomores and as the season has gone on we've had to settle for more green players at positions like TE and FB, and we wonder why the blocking isn't as good.

And the soph's are still making mistakes, either the system is designed to "plug and play" or it's not. Next year the soph's will think they are ready for the NFL, then they will find out the truth is cruel.

I don't remember anyone saying we were just too young in 2013 and that the following year we were going to have all this experience. I knew 2013 was probably the best shot to do something big before having to rebuild again. We lost a couple of nailbiters to Georgia and Ole Miss though (one the defense struggled, and the other Mett had one of his worst games), and then Alabama pulled away late in what had been another close game until the fourth quarter.

I think that issue can be solved with the right positional coaches and coordinators.

That is Les's responsibility and he's failed miserably these last few years.

Cam's contract is up at the end of the year. I think we should see what happens.

I think the defense will be fine if the offense can control the ball like it used to.
