One thing about Finebaum is that he loves Finebaum. He loves to be the center of controversy. I can guarantee that since he has his head up $aban's ass right not doesn't mean he wont be ripping him a new one come fall when they lose their first game. He loves to hurt people.. period.. it is his marketing ploy to get people to listen to his show.. read his columns... for one reason and one reason only... SHOW ME THE MONEY
From what I've read about his comments, he does seem overly infatuated with Saban. You shouldn't blame us Bama fans for him though. We didn't create him and I think the majority of us don't like him. I've never listened to his show, but he usually manages to get Bama fans pretty PO'd. Apparently, he didn't care for Shula and thus spent a lot of time bashing Alabama. He waffles back and forth between us and Auburn in an effort to keep everyone riled up. Judging from the reactions on some of the forums, he must be fairly successful. I know a lot of LSU people are chapped at Bama for the Saban hiring, and some just hate us just because they hate us, like a lot of Auburn people do. Don't hate us because of Finebaum though. He ain't one of ours. Peace.
Not really. Bama has always been one of the programs that LSU fans appreciated. Right now, LSU fans are chapped at Saban. A lot of the rounds you are hearing whipping past your ears are aimed at Nick, not Alabama, it's just that he's standing right there with you. Don't take it too personally.
Butch Davis had about the same amount of time to recruit as Saban and he really raked in some good players. Bama fans are making excuses, while Davis and UNC are bringing in some studs. UNC outrecruits Bama, with both schools having new coaches, who saw that coming?
Saban is a good coach and his D can be beaten. Georgia piled it on us with the holes in his D. He'll win some big ones for you and lose some he shouldn't. He's a college coach, not an NFL coach. He will share the talent in Bama with Auburn; whereas, in Louisiana - we have no one to share with. As for Finebaum... I wouldn't respond to him.:geauxtige :yelwink2:
I completely agree that he can be beaten. I haven't sent in my check for the subscription of "Saban is Football's God" magazine. I hope and expect that he'll improve Bama football and the product will be much more appealing than it has been for too long a time. Finebaum, on the other hand, doesn't matter to me one way or the other. Doesn't affect me because I don't listen to him but I read the reactions of those who let him bother them. He's like most sports talk personalities: couldn't get a real job so that's what they do.
"Finebaum's radio career in Birmingham began in the mid 1980's and his popular program arrived at WERC in 1993." Google Search is your friend:yelwink2:
